Submissions are now open for the Hong Kong ICT Awards 2025: Student Innovation Award, with the deadline set for July 14. Today, EdCity introduces this year’s theme: “Cultivating Nationalism.”

As citizens of both Hong Kong and our nation, we recognize that understanding national history extends beyond textbook knowledge. True connection emerges when we relate historical narratives to personal lived experiences, thereby appreciating the enduring values of Chinese cultural heritage. This profound engagement deepens our care for both country and homeland.

We invite innovative solutions centred on “Cultivating Nationalism” – projects that creatively interpret China’s historical, cultural, and developmental tapestry while strengthening social cohesion. A prime example is the award-winning project 《華文連心》 (Note: This name has no English translation) from the 2024 National Identity App Design Competition – developed by the team from Pooi To Middle School in the National Identity Mobile App Design Competition 2024.

Through virtual cultural expeditions and gamification of intangible heritage, this project enables youth to forge cultural belonging through interactive experiences.

We welcome any young individuals passionate about social technological innovation to register for the Student Innovation Award and put their creative design ideas into practice, contributing to societal progress!
